The Blind Date

Ailin, jangan jeles no? Aunty date your Mom and your sis last Saturday. The others, please drool to see what we eat OK, when Ayu put up the photo? (In my haste, I forgot to bring my camera with me).

I got this SMS from Ayu on Friday

Ayu : Aunty free tak nak pi makan esok? My mum baru balik last night
Me : Sat! nak tanya "bos" hehehe
Ayu : Hehe, mintak cuti for a few hours lah. keke
Me : (a couple of minutes later ) Yahoo!! Boleh pi date, jumpa pukul 4pm kat mee udang OK?
Ayu : Yeay! ok!! I'll call you if I can't find the place. hehe
Me : Maybe I'll wait for u in front of the mesjid Sbg Jaya?
Ayu : OK ! That would work.
Me : My car no is P** 1****, c u at about 4pm
Ayu : Ours is P** **, see you!!

All set then. The blind date with the girl who went target practice in Oklahoma. I have no gun to offer only mee udang!!!. How would that be compared to the time she enjoyed herself in the boonies. So I just hope and pray that I have got an aura as good as Mawi, for her to like me at first sight.

As promised, I met up with her at the appointed place. I was about 10 minutes later than them. I hope they didn't mind. The first sentence Ayu's mom said to me was "Kat mana lah jumpa dengan anak I ni?" She was dumbfounded I think that we could know each other virtually and was ready to have a meal together. I just told her she was in the US and I am in Malaysia. Ayu's mom looks younger than her age, she is friendly and I can get along well with her. We just seem to hit on like we have known each other before. Even Dato Fadzilah Kamsah who were sitting at the next table was ignored by us.

We ordered mee udang and bihun for Ayu's mom. I hope they enjoyed the meal, it wasn't much really but, I enjoyed their companies. Both Ayu's mom and I had the air kelapa (from the fruit itself, eventhough we do know, at our age, ayaq nyiok is a total no no). Minum dulu, sakit urat tu sapu minyak later kan. We ordered another drink each after that. We talked about a lot of things, Ayu and I were explaining how blogging works etc., we kind of persuade her to learn. So daughters beware, if your mom does eventually learn to blog, all your secrets will no longer be secrets I think hehehe. And I would welcome another makcik to join us the "golden ladies bloggers". But I am sure if she ever blog, Ayu's sister will surely blame me for her time spent in front of the PC. If she does, I think she will be a great hit. So Ayu and Ailin, I like your mom, will try to keep in contact if I ever go to Penang Island (if she is around).

Ayu, I hope you have a good taste of mee udang and my company the other day. If you think you want another dose of the succulent prawns, before you go back to to the US, please give me a call. We can go there again. Or want to try Mee Ketam Kuala Juru next?
